The campaign for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2023 aims to raise awareness of disturbing developments and trends identified by UNODC and calls on governments, law enforcement, public services, and civil society to assess and enhance their efforts to strengthen prevention, identify and support victims, and end impunity.

Today, 15 October 2022, Luxembourg local residents have joined thousands of people around the globe in global anti-human trafficking nonprofit A21’s 8th annual Walk for Freedom. “I want to be part of a generation that will abolish modern-day slavery!”, said Jonas Sampaio, an 18-year old student in Luxembourg.

The fight to stop violence against women does not have an expiration date, but this week we have shown our support for women’s wellbeing by partaking in several activities. The Insight Project proposed and organized the film screening “Carga”, a movie about the trafficking of women for sexual purposes.

18 October 2021, marks the 15th EU Anti-Trafficking Day. This day is an opportunity to raise awareness on trafficking in human beings. Do you know that the EU and EU members are actively working to prevent human trafficking? Why is it necessary? Because forced labour is a reality… and people are recruited, exploited, enslaved and trapped in captivity without being able to escape.

The 7th annual Walk for Freedom, a global event observed in several countries around the world, also took place in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on Saturday 16 October, 2021. The event was a great success with over 100 participants joining the walk to raise public awareness on human trafficking, a form of modern-day slavery.
